There's another trick I have in mind, but I don't know if it'll work. You can see that its the same size as what was in the viewer, but the tile where the pleasantview terrain should be isn't there. So whatever, I make a copy of one of the files provided. I find the export option, and apparently instead of saving as a png file it has to export by overwriting an existing png file. now to see how to open up the Pleasantview file in it and see what I can do.Īpparently I can open up the sc4 file, but the viewer shows four tiles of water, and then a tile of what looks to be Pleasantview's terrain, but mirrored. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide for me.

If its all possible and okay to do, how would I go about extracting the height map from Pleasantview.sc4, and then touching it up for use in CAW? I just don't want to accidentally do something that can get me in trouble. I also want to know if it's legally acceptable to use a material extracted from The Sims 2 for use in The Sims 3, because I do know some games have EULAs and/or ToAs that forbid the use of materials from other games, even if they're from the same series and owner (such as Bethesda Softworks, which disallows the use of Morroblivion, which converted Morrowind materials directly into Oblivion). sc4 files provided by The Sims 2 for use in CAW? I want to know if its possible, because I'm working on a remake of Pleasantview, and find that using a height map of the original would look a lot more authentic than the terrain I currently have. Is it possible (and legal?) to extract a height map from the. I have some questions regarding height maps, Create-A-World, and the.
